Stanley takes in a homeless dog who eats Ollie's supper instead of scraps and holds the torch while burglars rifle the safe. Stanley hides from Ollie's recriminations in the dog-house. The dog turns up again and steals Stanley's ham-bone mascot so they chase it across the countryside where it digs up the burglar's loot. The reward money funds a Xmas feast, and a proper dog's dinner!
