(Extra Nasty)! Another series of Watkin’s artwork at his brilliant best.

It’s hot and Dan’s thirsty so he uses a telegraph pole and an anvil to get some
snow from a mountain top to make an ice-lolly. It freezes him up and he awakens
a dormant volcano to thaw himself out but all the water he used has ruined the
barley crop – until he drinks 100 gallons of lemon barley water and his beard
starts sprouting barley – phew!

Terry Wakefield will be eternally remembered for his Laurel and Hardy strips
for Film Fun, taking the strip over from his father, George in the 1940s. When

illustration for friends like the one above.
