Watkins drew Oor Wullie in his early years as a six or seven year old and here he is not allowed to go picnikin' wi' Jock an' Ginger and stuck with shoppin' and tea at Aunt Jessie's. He cheers up when he spots the boys trapped shoppin' wi’ their mams as well!
One of the earliest Oor Wullie pieces to be offered at auction.

Born in 1923 Alan Hunter began his artistic career in the later 1950s illustrating science fiction magazines New Worlds, Science Fantasy and Nebula. He assisted in the birth of White Dwarf illustrating more than sixty issues. His artwork is published in the UK, Germany and Belgium. In 1977 his fee for completing this artwork was £1.50p!
