*John M Burns started out in the 1960s as an illustrator for Junior Express and School Friend, later working on TV Century 21, Countdown and Space Family Robinson in Lady Penelope. He drew the daily newspaper strips Jane and Modesty Blaise reaching the height of his fame with Judge Dredd for 2000AD to which he still contributes today.
